Music, movement and sensory groups for under 5s at our play cafe in Plymouth

About Us

Discover all the fun in store for you and your child at Moo Music Plymouth Plymouth. We provide interactive music, movement, and multi-sensory sessions for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Specialising in development through play, we offer pay-as-you-go sessions from our play cafe in Mutley Plain and in Drake’s Den softplay centre, Sherford, Plympton, Lee Mill and intergenerational sessions at a sheltered living facility in Ivybridge. Our wonderfully welcoming team are proud to provide a warm and judgement free environment - you’ll feel at ease the minute you walk through the door.

Due to limited capacity, booking is essential. Sessions at our Mutley and Drake’s Den sessions are 90 minutes and include 45 minutes of free play with your structured session. At our other venues, it’s straight into the Moo Music fun!

Our Sessions

Using puppets, props, bubbles, instruments, and our catalogue of specially written catchy music, we aid children’s development while having lots of fun. Grown ups, we apologise in advance if you can’t get the songs out of your head! Our sessions are split into the following ages and stages:

Our Sessions

  • Mooborn: Designed for newborn babies to confident sitters. Primarily focused on helping you to bond with your baby, we stimulate the senses, develop visual and auditory tracking, muscle development and coax out lots of smiles!

  • Baby Moo: This one is for confident sitters to wobbly walkers. Here we focus on balance, hand to eye coordination, bonding, word association and problem solving.

  • Mixed Moo: Aimed and toddlers and pre-schoolers plus any baby siblings they may have. We focus on speech and language development, balance and coordination, numbers, shapes, colours, matching, counting, socialisation and turn taking.

Adults go free - the more the merrier!

Intergenerational Moo Music

Bringing old and young together, these special sessions are held at Douro Court assisted living facility in Ivybridge every Tuesday in term time. Residents of Douro Court join us in the lounge for Moo Music sessions. Our families are then invited to stay for  FREE tea and cake and have a natter with the residents. These sessions are hugely important in reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness in our elderly and we have seen some beautiful friendships being formed between the adults and the children.

Please note, strict Covid precautions are in place at these sessions.

Moo Massage

Our four week baby massage is run by Steph, our qualified and experienced infant massage instructor. Baby massage is a beautiful bonding experience with countless benefits for you both.

Each week we focus on a different area of the body, learning strokes which you can then use at home.

As well as a relaxing session, massage skills and lots of fascinating information, the course also gives you the chance to meet and get to know other new parents. Refreshements and time to relax are included at the end of your session. We have eight spaces available on each course and only run two courses per month, which tend to sell out quickly.

The course includes a FREE bundle of sensory toys, drinks each week and your massage oil.

It is suitable for newborn babies who aren’t yet on the move.

A note from the owner

"I'm absolutely thrilled to run Moo Music in venues across the city and beyond. Along with my team of fantastic session leaders we provide you with a wonderful environment to make special memories with your little one.

"Although we offer lots of chaotic fun, our sessions are carefully planned to aid development; visual and auditory tracking, hand to eye coordination, word association, rhythm and rhyme, coordination, numbers, colours, textures, matching - we aim to develop them all and more!

"During the Covid-19 pandemic we've had to make some changes to how we operate. Things may look and feel a little different but out fundamental mission to provide you with a non-judgemental, relaxed and safe space to interact and have fun with your child remains exactly the same."

- Lisa Clark
